Dear nécessité,
Happy March. I love sharing this time with you. How are you? We are moving forward. Do not stop. Stay on the positive train. Take moments and honor yourself and your desires. Take time to smell the roses and give thanks to those roses.
I am using this moment to say, “I am grateful.”I am full of gratitude. Yet, I am humbled by all the blessings received, large and small. Thank you. I am grateful for you, my breath, family, friends, love, life, the sun, the snow, the rain, the birds that sing to me daily, my mind, body, soul, and spirit. Food, water, being a Woman, and my list go on… It means a lot to me to share how and why the nécessité Gratitude Candle was born. I have been working on creating the nécessité candle for some time. I knew I wanted the vessel to be orange, although some thought I was crazy. (Once finished, they were shocked they loved an orange candle!).
However, I was desiring to offer you a candle on nécessité as an extra item to bring into your personal space to help add that special touch for yourself or during moments of entertaining with friends and family, but also a candle that would transport you away and add an aroma that was beyond just smelling good. So many people were coming over during various times for auditions and meetings outside in our backyard, and people were asking where I got this beautiful candle. When I said it is the nécessité candle, all I heard repeatedly was, do something with it, you’re going to do something with this, right?! So, I guess I am aiming to do something with them. So, we named this the nécessité Gratitude Candle. It is the n1 for nécessité 1 (our first candle).
Why gratitude because it is what I am and what is important to me at my core. I am so appreciative and thankful for so much, starting with you. I know what my journey has been to get to this present day, and I take none of it for granted, even the pain, family loss, health challenges, and all; I have had to find the moments of gratefulness through it all. I embrace and relish in it all. Grateful is also what I am for this candle. To show and honor gratitude.
I never let a day go by without thanking GOD. So, it was all fitting to name our first candle the Gratitude candle. There has been so much to be grateful for; nécessité is one of those grateful blessings. Recently it has been added to Neiman Marcus and inside all Bloomingdale’s stores in America. That is all GOD, not me, so do not get it twisted. Thank you, God. We donate proceeds to charity from each candle purchased as it is about sharing the blessing and keeping it circulating.
Anyone that knows me knows giving is my nature, not my trend. So I hope you enjoy this nécessité Gratitude candle and all that it exudes. Bring in color in your space. Keep your space bright and cheery, and positive.

In honor of Women’s International Month, we are donating proceeds from each purchase of the nécessité Gratitude Candle to Every Mother Counts charity for March. Why this charity, like many other charities, is a nécessité. The founder, Christy Turlington-Burns, is dedicated and has been since its inception, and we understand and support the importance of the mission. Because my grandmother, as a little girl, lost her mother during childbirth (my Nana lived on earth over 90 years without her mommy, that makes me hurt for her) of one of her siblings, because my GOD daughter passed away during childbirth and one of nécessité’s first cheerleaders and supporters passed away after birthing her first and only child.
Two of these three children have survived; none of the women did. Therefore, we give back and share the blessings by helping support Women through Every Mother Counts. Happy International Women’s Month. I am Woman, I am Grateful.
