Nothing says holiday festivities better than a cold creamy glass of egg-nog. Here are two recipes for both the traditionalists and plant-based dairy-free lovers of this classic seasonal beverage. Spike either recipe at your leisure with your favorite spiced rum or bourbon.
Vegan Egg Nog
- 1 Can Organic Coconut Milk
- 1 Can Creme de Coco
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1/3 cup Maple Syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup water
Method Of Preparation:
1. Add all ingredients into a blender, blend until smooth.
2. Place in a pitcher and chill until ready to serve.
Traditional Egg Nog
- 6 large egg yolks
- 1/3 cup Maple Syrup
- 3 Cups Whole Milk
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp allspice
Method Of Preparation:
1. Whisk all ingredients together.
2. Combine in a saucepan over medium heat.
3. Continue to stir until the liquid reach 160 degrees.
4. Remove from heat and place in a vessel to chill until ready to serve.
