Dear beautiful you, nécessité,
How are you? Happy Fall. This year is truly going by super-fast. I so love this time of year. I love the change of seasons and feel extra cozy and comfy this time of year—one of my favorites. Lately, I have been working, working, and working more. And I fondly love and appreciate every moment. I recently learned so much more about myself through one of my creations. I have learned that I am more committed and full of even more passion than I ever thought.
I had a vision, and I executed it. I gave so much energy and creative energy to a recent accomplishment that I desire to share with you here. Have you looked on the nécessité site before and seen that we have e-commerce shops? We have The Shop, and then we have rpeat by nécessité, our celebrity-driven resale repurposed with purpose products. It’s very special and rare.
What I recently delivered during NYFW was the first ever resale fashion show, and it was by rpeat by nécessité. It was incredible. Why? One reason is because my vibe tribe showed up and supported me. The love. The support. The execution. It was very special. The days and evenings I experienced many tears and feeling overwhelmed were tested, but I kept going.
I did not let those challenging moments hold me back. I pressed forward. No one knew what I was doing or what they were attending, not even my husband. I can always surprise him. I blow him away each time. I put together a resale fashion show and used real women who are not professional models. These beautiful women came from Harlem, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. PaintBox/MiniLuxe did all of the model’s nails. They graciously hosted all the models at Paintbox (20 East 69th Street. New York, NY 10021) for complimentary nail art for the show.
The girls were all so happy and loving their glam beauty moment. Moments created can add much joy to a person’s spirit if given the opportunity. I am so grateful for PaintBox/MiniLuxe’s kind gesture. Thank you again. The fashion show was hosted in NYC at the Michelin restaurant Eleven Madison Park (11 Madison Park, New York City).
What another grateful honor. Thank you to all at EMP for being so helpful and creating a special moment. I am truly thankful to you all. Thank you. As you may already know, EMP restaurant became 100% plant-based during the lockdown, so I knew this was in proper alignment with who we are at nécessité. And to my authentic being as a vegan and plant-based eater and lifestyle since the 90s. It was about bringing who we are together and creating opportunity. Synergy. Awareness. Inspiration. The evening was very special. We had a resale pop-up. People shopped and walked away with goodies.
It could not have been more perfect. I am so grateful for everyone who paused their own lives to come to love and support us, for rpeat by nécessité and me. Thank you, models, EMP, Paintbox/MiniLuxe, friends, family, and loved ones. It was because of each of you I am so grateful. Thank you. Thank you.
Here are a few photos I share with you from the event. I had fun creating each look for the models in resale clothing. We paid homage to 50 years of hip hop by playing hip hop (mainly 90’s hip hop), a nod to streetwear fashion meets luxury. We all wore tube socks with each outfit, and the bamboo earrings worn by each model were so great! “Bamboo earrings at least two pairs”- LL COOL J!
We will continue to do pop-ups offering rare resale items, so stay connected to find out when and where the next one is. rpeat by nécessité donates a portion of its proceeds to Harlem Grown. We have a great selection of celebrity clothing to provide you with and so much more.
rpeat by nécessité is all about repurposing with a purpose.
Much Love and Gratitude,
